Who can resist peanut butter cookies with a chocolate kiss melted on top?  The kids at Vacation Bible School thought they were sent from above!  This recipe can't be beat!

HERSHEY'S KISSES PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
(Makes two dozen cookies)

Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy - I use Jif extra crunchy)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
24 Hershey's kisses

Pour sugar into a mixing bowl.  Place peanut butter on sugar.  Add vanilla and egg.
Fold sugar into peanut butter, vanilla, and egg using a table knife.  Continue this process until mixture becomes stiff and dry.
Scoop a heaping teaspoon of the dough and roll it into a ball.
Place the ball on a non-stick baking pan (12" x 18" pan will hold the 24 balls).
Continue this process placing the balls about one inch apart (six rows of four).
Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 12 minutes.  Unwrap 24 chocolate kisses while cookies are baking.
As soon as the cookies are removed from the oven, press one Hershey's kiss about half way into each ball.
This will flatten the ball.
Allow the cookies to cool for about 15 minutes and run a spatula under each cookie to loosen it from the pan.
The Hershey's kiss will remain soft for a few hours before returning to its original consistency.
My opinion is that the cookies are best if eaten while the kiss is melted!
